Abstract

Atoms are principally eternal in their stable isotopes. Carbon - with the chemical symbol C - is one of them and the element in focus within "Project AgroChallenge". To see all the other atomic elements in symbolized form just click elegantly the Periodic Table we all know. At least some of them are wandering in cycles on Tellus driven by direct sun energy driven photosynthesis - the major exergetic process on planet Earth when it comes to mass balances.

The theory behind Project AgroChallenge is thereby basically very straight and simple ! The aim of Project AgroChallenge is simply to counterbalance at the stoechiometrical level too much antropogenic fossil C combustion with the same amount of sun driven antropogenic photosynthetic C fixation performed by the most efficient annual ligno-cellulosic crops for each region commercially controlled at global professional farming logistic level. The annually commercially ordered dry harvest of them is further coupled to a logistic involving secure compact storage of the cropped and harvested biomass amount of CO2 from the atmosphere.

The plant controlled atmosphere had up to ~1850:ies a content of CO2 corresponding to 462 Gt C - here defined as the global CO2 reset level. This global atmospheric amount gave a concentration of ~280 ppm of CO2. The accumulated fossil C combustion since 1850 is about 366 Gt C. Much of this has been absorbed by the sea and by soils with high pH - sodisic soils with a high pH present e g in like in Pakistan. This is however a in slow processes. The current fossil C combustion is however of a size that still remains a fossil C amount of 110 Gt C to  remain in the atmosphere. To this remaining fossil C memory effect raising the CO2 concentration currently to ~390 ppm is currently added 9 Gt C annually from fossil burning. 

Photosynthesis is the natural reverse of combustion and respiration(a biologically temperature controlled slow version of combustion). Photosynthesis is the major driving exergetic process on planet Earth. The sun driven global spontanious photosynthesis is still annually fixing CO2 into biomass(44w% C in dry matter) at a rate of ~120 Gt C annually.

So Project AgroChallenge is aimed at actively reversing too much antropogenic combustion with a stoechiometrically counterbalanced amount of antropogenic controlled photosynthesis followed by long term storage during at least 50 years under the most cost effective forms. This process will be fully transparently registered and visible down to the % of aimed amount and the atomic level by Project AgroChallenge.

Further details are given below and on the whole website. But this is what it all is about on the atomic level: efficient annual crop photosynthesis, dry harvesting followed by compacting and long term controlled dry storage (=commercial sequestration) under stable forms.

Project AgroChallenge is aimed at being a globally used PC tool for counterbalancing the currently observed global warming strongly correlated to an accelerated fossil C burning.

In the standard format we offer the customer a clickable sequestering contract we guarantee commercially for a period of 50 years.

Parallell to its commercial success the "global low land nation" can thereby be preserved is we know it today, the banking system and the global payment system as well and the cataclysmic effects on global economy be fully counterbalanced before it is too late.

Background

The initial phases of a global warming dynamics is currently registered in more an more coupled parameters. Within 100 years an average temperature increase of the planet based on the dynastic attitudes & observations e g at COP15 in December 2009 are therefore calculated to be between 1,6 - 6 °C higher temperature.  The uncertainity is strongly dependent on human future behaviours.

It becomes more and more scientifically apparent that these processes are caused by a quickly growing human population that is now in an intensive technologization process ruled by a simple monetary system not yet coupled to a systemic analysis of the physical rules on Planet Earth.

The ruling organism on the planet is - from a mass balance point of view - the plant kingdom by its massive photosynthetic exergetic process performed by a million photosynthetic capable species active in the most diverse biomes around the planet. Together they fix annually through photosynthetic activities ~120 gigatonnes (="Gt") of C from the atmosphere. They are thereby undisputively from a mass point of view the true rulers of the C-pools of the planet (For details see elsewhere on this website !). Since billions of years "the plant kingdom" have - by their  sun driven photosynthetic process -  accumulated  enormous amounts of C in different pools (shown elsewhere on this website) on the planet representing fossil photosynthetically stored energy in the forms of peat, brown charcoal, antracit, crude oil, methane and methanehydrates(=clathrate).

The basic formula behind all these phenomenons including combustion of fossil or recent biomass sun energy is the same stoechiometric formula presented below driven to the right or to the left depending on the activity:

Photosynthesis (the process to the right) needs the catching of an amount of sun energy corresponding to 2808 kJ/mol which is fixed into the produced amount of glucose.

One(1) mol of anything is 6,022*1023 molecules = Avogadros constant. One mole of glukos has a weight of 180 g if the involved atoms in glucose are added.

While sitting before the screen You are now driving this process in the direction to the left with an assumed effekt of ~105 W as a normal weight grown up person. We donīt blame You. This is life and living. A sprinter can raise the metabolism by free will up to over 1 kW = 1 000 W.

The contained energy amount in 1 g of glucose can later in the plant after its need or DNA-script plan be alternatively used for the building of
